What's New at Next Step Fort Saskatchewan
Pink Shirt Day
Posted on February 18th, 2016
On February 24, 2016 we are celebrating Pink Shirt day at the Next Step High School in Fort Saskatchewan. Bullying is a major problem for many students across Canada and it is imperative that victims of bullying know they are not alone and that there is help and support available. Pink Shirt Day is a great initiative that was started in Nova Scotia by two high school students in support of a Grade 9 student who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. This act kindness has become a symbol of support for people who are being bullied to know they are not alone. With this in mind, we would like to invite our students to join our staff in wearing a pink shirt on February 24th so that we can symbolize that we as a school and a society will not tolerate bullying.
